Our candles are hand crafted in Scottsdale, AZ giving them their own variations in the glass and labels. Imperfections should be expected, as these bottles have a story of their own, each one coming from a local bar or restaurant.
Unlike most candle companies, we offer an array of different bottles all with 100% soy wax and one signature scent; a sweet blend of tangy grapefruit with a punch of citrus, peach and a hint of vanilla.

MEET THE OWNER
Welcome! My name is Mikyla (pronounced mik-eye-la) and I am the owner and operator of Scottsdale Candle Co. I started out making candles out of my backyard 4 years ago after working in the nightlife industry and seeing all these beautiful bottles getting tossed away. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and I quickly saw a way to not only help the environment but to tap into my homeschool crafty side and create something magical. Little did I know how far it would take me in four short years.
With only a little bit of administrative and retail management background, I took the leap of faith to create candles full time right off the bat. I built my website myself, created an excel sheet to track sales and failed a few hundred times at creating a well burning candle. I was quickly running low on savings and jumped back into bartending while I continued building my business. Shortly after that I was faced with COVID and all of a sudden I had no job and no candle sales. A few more bumps in the road and I was finally busy enough during Holiday season to keep myself afloat. A year later I was in a warehouse and currently I am opening a Recycling Non Profit to help keep industry glass out of our landfills.
I truly believe in hard work and manifestation. Believing in myself every step of the way and waking up each morning deciding to stay disciplined in my mission. I thank every person who’s been there past and present. I truly believe in creating candles that provide luxury, memories, and sustainability.

Mikyla Harter has made a career out of upcycling. Using her own creativity and a lot of elbow grease, Harter, along with her boyfriend, makes luxury can- dles out of Champagne and liquor bottles that would otherwise be thrown away through their company, Scottsdale Candle Co. “We actually bought the company in March 2019 from some friends that started it while working in the hospitality industry,” says Harter, who previously worked at Riot Hospitality Group, the parent company of nightlife venues such as Riot House and El Jefe. While working in this industry, she witnessed firsthand the high volume of waste that restaurants and bars produce and how little they recycle.
